This YouTube video is a commercial from the 1950s. The commercial gives an explanation and demonstration on how to use a rotary telephone. The commercial was made when rotary telephones were first being introduced to the public, and is intended to help people use this 'new' technology.

This image is a map of the world showing the telephone connections in 1901. It includes submarine and overland cables. It shows the reach of global telecommunications at the beginning of the 20th century.
